While many felons in Florida are finding it hard to get a job, others are gainfully employed in different companies. This is because, despite the obvious difficulty of getting employment after conviction, the state is filled with opportunities—even for felons.

Most of the jobs you will see here are from companies that will check for your criminal record. But don’t panic. Other felons that are working in these roles also had their records checked, and it did not disqualify them.

Database manager

As the name implies, this job will require you to maintain and organize the database for your employer. If there is any issue with the database system, you will have to find the problem and solve it.

Felons in Florida that work as database managers are earning good salaries. The pay is between $59,000 and $75,000, depending on the company you end up working for.

To qualify, you will need a degree in database management. But if you don’t have one, you can take an online course and get certified by a recognized institution.

Community outreach worker

In Florida, there are many urgent vacancies for community outreach workers. Felons in Florida are also considered for employment, so you can confidently apply for the role.

Your job will revolve around helping people find the community services they need. This could mean anything from medical services, transportation, legal services, and many more.

If you have experience in jobs related to psychology and social work, you will fit properly into this role. Salaries for this job in Florida usually range from $15 to $20 per hour.

Delivery driver

As basic as this job may look, there is a lot of money to be made from it. And thankfully, you don’t need a degree to qualify. Felons in Florida are making about $60,000 per year as delivery drivers, and you can join them if you have a valid license.

If your conviction is related to driving under the influence, you may be able to get this job easily. You should also be able to pass a drug test to qualify.

Major gift officer

As a major gift officer, you will be working for charitable organizations most of the time. And your job will include recognition of donors, maintaining relationships with them and other foundations, supporting the staff, etc.

It is a very lucrative job, as you could earn up to $50,000 per year. To qualify, you should have a certificate and experience in management, marketing, business, or public relations.

Staff accountant

While preparing and reviewing financial documents, a staff accountant also advises and oversees the financial procedures of a company. The salary is about $50,000 per year.

Many companies in Florida are currently hiring for this position, and they welcome felons. So you need to have critical thinking abilities as well as a recognized certificate that shows you are trained for the job.
