Who we are

We’re building a prayer and meditation app. One that is authentically Christian and Catholic, while at the same time a resource for anyone looking to grow deeper in a relationship with God. We believe that people are hungry for peace, and that there is no surer way to find it than by learning to sit in silence with Christ: “Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest” (Mt 11:28).
Our goal is to build something truly great. Something that combines the beauty of the Church’s spirituality with world-class product and content execution.
We launched the app in December of 2018 and have been blown away with the incredible growth traction. Hallow has been downloaded over 15 million times with over 250,000 5-star reviews. We’re blessed to be backed by some of the best mission-driven investors in the world and are excited to build out the team to help a lot more folks grow closer to God.

What You’ll Do

Direct all of our Spanish-language content operations: You’ll manage a small but high-performing team across partnerships, audio production, voiceover, audio engineering, translation, and more, creating thousands of hours of original audio prayer content for our user community across LATAM.

Acquire and/or translate existing content and create original content: This role requires the ability to identify the needs of our LATAM community, acquire and license intellectual property from guest partners, accurately translate prayers from English to Spanish, and write original prayers in Spanish. A background in theology and writing are both essential.

Work with Spanish-speaking guest contributors: You will reach out to a variety of speakers, authors, theologians, religious, etc. to record and license guest content such as prayer sessions and Bible Stories. At times, you will need to attend live recordings. You must be comfortable reaching out to new people and should enjoy working with a variety of folks.

Drive to the Goal: You’ll be accountable to the LATAM General Manager for hitting key performance indicators (KPIs) across content production, community retention, and partnerships, and will be responsible for setting KPIs for the LATAM content team.

Work with the Growth and Product Teams: At times, you’ll work with the Growth team and provide input on ads, messaging, and emails. You’ll also work with the Product team as they build out the app in Spanish. Being part of a startup means working across a lot of different areas!

What We’re Looking For

Passion: First and foremost, we’re looking for someone excited and passionate about our mission. It makes it a lot more fun to actually care about what you’re working on!

Ability to Build and Adapt Quickly: Desire and ability to quickly build strong and trusting relationships, influence, and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization. Perseverance, follow-through, ability to move quickly, and ability to manage several priorities and projects at one time.

Experience: 2+ years of people/HR experience is a must, preferably at an early or growth-stage startup – we are looking for someone who has helped build fast-paced teams.

Grit: A start-up is tough and we really care about what we’re doing. You’ll be jumping into a new, “team of 1” role in a fast moving organization – perseverance and the ability to create progress independently will be critical.

Team Support: Ability to support a cross-functional team’s People priorities and handle matters in a way that conveys understanding, empathy, objectivity, and reliability.
