THE ROLE:
As Senior Copywriter at FEVO, you will help ensure that an inimitable brand voice is present across every piece of content we distribute to the world, from business decks and social media posts to client training materials and case studies to the screens that clients and consumers encounter when using our product. You will work alongside a talented team of marketers, writers and designers to help define and establish a brand that will transform the way people shop online. Your day-to-day will include copywriting and editing across a panoply of digital and printed materials in support of FEVO’s marketing, sales and product teams. You will act as an advocate for our various constituents (clients, consumers, investors, curious internet users), translating the sometimes onerous world of e-commerce solutions into something digestible, human and relatable. Our ideal Senior Copywriter will not just be a talented writer and communicator, but an expert storyteller and problem solver. They will play a pivotal role in communicating our brand identity and value proposition to existing clients and consumers as well as potential ones. They will take lists of bullet points or call transcriptions and turn them into clean, concise, clever copy. They will read everything with a close and prudent eye. They will give constructive feedback. They will care. We’re looking for someone who is confident in their abilities, maintains a curious and creative mindset and brings a “never finished, always improving” approach to our product. While fear of failure is a natural human condition and thus totally understandable, we ask that applicants lock said fear in a box and throw it from a bridge, as we believe failure often illuminates the path to new and interesting solutions. WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

5+ years of experience as a copywriter, editor or related writing-intensive position, ideally with experience writing for a product, marketing or brand team
Familiarity with adapting your writing style to a range of formats and purposes, including sales decks, product documentation, display ads, social media posts and email communications
The ability to work cleanly and quickly in a deadline-driven environment
Experience recruiting, assigning and managing other writers and editors, especially in a freelance capacity
A working knowledge of editorial and content calendars: building them, managing them, knowing how to pivot them on the fly when something falls through, etc.
Top-notch proofreading skills and a borderline obsession with English grammar and usage: punctuation, syntax, capitalization, not just a preference for whether to use the Oxford comma but a well-reasoned argument for why you feel that way, etc.
Strategic thinking and strong problem-solving skills
Exceptional attention to detail, complemented by strong organizational and prioritization skills
A passion for building strong relationships with stakeholders, industry experts and partners in order to lead, define, represent and communicate our product and company vision

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Build a resonant and identifiable brand voice: You’ll help to ensure that every piece of content FEVO produces — from the copy on a CTA button to our biggest keynote presentation of the year — has a consistent tone, style and point of view.
Take on any copy-editing task: Press releases, sales decks, product copy, ads, social posts, employee bios, client communications, case studies, blog headlines, HR materials … when someone at the company needs copy proofed, we’re sending them your way.
Write clever, concise and compelling copy for a range of use cases: You’ll be the resident bard and storyteller for a number of other internal departments, embellishing their messaging with wit and character whenever possible.
Hit deadlines … and over communicate if and when they are unreasonable. Knowing which tasks to prioritize (and raising your hand if you don’t) is a key part of this role.
Manage people and processes effectively: You’ll contribute to the maintenance of our content calendar across both brand and product marketing needs. At times, you’ll manage editorial processes from start to finish, liaising with any key stakeholders to get necessary approvals before publication.
Recruit editorial talent: In the medium- to long-term and budget-permitting, we may need additional editorial talent to execute some projects. You should bring with you a nose for finding freelance or full-time editorial talent and the ability to both onboard and manage that talent when called upon.
Give feedback confidently and take feedback humbly: We don’t expect you to teach your teammates how to write better, but we do expect you to advise them on how to make your job and attendant workflows run at max efficiency.
Champion an audience-centric approach: You’ll prize the needs and desires of our various audiences (clients, consumers, etc.) above all, ensuring that every piece of copy they read is clear and coherent.
